OKO is back and merging with Seattle Polish Film Festival (SPFF)!

There was a longish hiatus in the OKO activities,  but now the Polish film club is back and hopefully will be working as a natural extension of Seattle Polish Film Festival (SPFF - an annual event showcasing the best of Polish cinema since the early 1990s).

The SPFF opens very soon soon  with a big party (free admission!) on Thursday, October 8, 6-9 p.m. Seattle at Polish Cultural Center on Capitol Hill,  followed by 2 weekends full of Polish movies: Frid/Sat/Sun, Oct. 9/10/11 & Frid/Sat/Sun, Oct. 16/17/18, all playing at SIFF Cinema Uptown (on Queen Ann Hill) - schedule here...

SPFF is sponsored by Seattle-Gdynia Sister City Association and YES, in case you are wondering or not confused yet,  SPFF is part of  Seattle International Film Festival, which shows extraordinary films from different parts of the world all year round, as Seattleites are quite movie lovers.

SO, after a big Polish film bonanza this October at Seattle Polish Film Festival, join us for a monthly Polish movie screenings at Polish Cultural Center, free of charge  - we will see the films together - the oldies and the new ones, discuss them and vote on what to see, too!  In the past each club member was an evening host for the film he/she proposed: including
introductory info, possible discussion topics and critique - we can continue this format or we can change it:  it all depends on your preferences and participation.

We are still working on finding our spot (date and time) on the busy Polish Home calendar schedule, but are hoping that the last Friday of each month after Polish dinner of pierogi or kielbasa we’ll be able to screen the best of Polish cinema – classics, new titles, arthouse, and documentaries – at the Polish Cultural Center @ 1714 18th Ave, Seattle, 98122.

STAY TUNED!
